I think I'll take a look to all the points of your email but I think
I have to underline

It happens more frequently than you can imagine expecially when you
have to cnvert data coming from systems coming from the seventies.
Before taking a loot to all the following point I have to apologize
since I forgot to explain that I have to obtain the same identical
behavior in Windows as well as Linux, Sun Solarsi, IBM Aix, and MacOs
too... our system is granted to be absolutelly platform independent and
I have to obtain the same result no matter on which server I'm working
on. If I move a whole archive from a Sun Solaris server to a Windows one
or a Linux one the Database will have to work exactly as before, just
substituting the binary dir, with the same behavior. That's why I must
find a way that isn't dependent from Windows, a solution that should
depend on something absolutely standard...
